Dear Maudie: I just found this great place to reconnect!
Welcome to the Dear Maudie website! My play for young people was published a few years ago by Playscripts, Inc and now is being purchased..and hopefully performed…around the country. This piece is about and for tweens but I like to think it’s about all of us who remember that time in our lives. (and who can forget it?)
This website is for those of you who have participated in Dear Maudie productions to share your experiences with others from different cities. What did you learn doing the play? How was it received? Who were your favorite characters? Who in your real lives mirrored those fictional characters?
And mostly, this should be a safe place for you to share your own experiences: how similar you may be to a character in the play and how well you are navigating your way through pimples, parents, and peer pressure.
Finally, maybe from here you will be inspired to do what I did…track down an old friend with whom I had lost touch. For me, the search and eventual reunion led to the writing of a play. For you, it may lead to something else.
